How to Enable USB Debugging on Farm Devices

USB debugging is required before a phone farm rack can detect nodes via ADB.

General steps: Settings → About phone → tap Build number 7 times → Developer options → enable USB debugging.

Samsung: also enable 'Install via USB' if pushing test APKs frequently.

Xiaomi / Redmi: enable USB debugging plus 'USB debugging (Security settings)' and disable MIUI optimization if ADB drops after reboot.

Google Pixel: developer options → USB debugging; use original or short certified cables in rack slots.

Oppo / Realme: additional OEM unlock toggles may appear — document per device in your lab runbook.

After enabling, connect one pilot device to the rack hub and authorize the RSA fingerprint on the device screen.

Label each slot on the rack wiring map so debugging re-authorization after OS updates is traceable.
